July 13, 2025Discovering Europe at FSRM
Fairfax Station Railroad Museum Welcomes the National Capital Area European Train Enthusiasts (ETE). A new, local group is sharing their layouts, trains, and expertise. Come to Europe by way of the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum and learn about the European Rails. Event Runs 1 to 4 pM on Sunday, July 13th. Regular Admission Rates Apply.
What is the ETE? European Train Enthusiasts, Inc. (ETE) is the premiere North American organization focused on educating the public on the subject of European Railroading. Founded in 1973, ETE serves modelers, railway fans, related organizations, and the community at-large through public events, working model displays and media presentations. Membership in ETE is open to anyone who has an interest in the railways of Europe, whether model or full scale. As a Regular Member you will receive our quarterly journal, the ETE EXPRESS, which is full of railway histories, modeler how-to and prototype news.
ETE Member Benefits: Members are also eligible to join Local Chapters where you can share your interest in European railroading with others. Participating with a local chapter enhances your hobby experience by putting you in direct contact with others who share your interests.
Membership: ETE reflects the broad and diverse interests of its members and the communities it serves. Among the membership you will find amateur historians, travel enthusiasts, and preservationists. For modelers, virtually every scale, gauge, and control system (DC, AC, and DCC) is represented. Many chapters also have well-established special interest groups (SIGs) that build and operate transportable Modular Display Layouts at public venues.
Explore their Web Site! Look into ETE Chapters and their activities. Attend one or two of their local meetings to see if a membership in ETE is right for you. JOIN THEM (All links will take you to the ETE website)

We All Scream for Ice Cream!
A Special Event of Scoops and Stories!
Attention, book lovers and ice cream enthusiasts! We’re excited to invite you to a delightful afternoon at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum for a Reading Circle and Ice Cream Social! Join us for Stories & Sundaes Soirée!
Join as we step into the world of Dadblamed Union Army Cow by Susan Fletcher, a story loosely based on an actual true story about a cow that follows her owner off the farm and into the army during a moment in history.
Build an ice cream sundae of your choice to enjoy while one of our Volunteer Scoopers reads this uplifting tale.
The FSRM Chill & Chug Ice Cream Shop opens at 1:00 pm and Story Time begins promptly at 1:30. Our second Story Time begins with the Ice Cream Shop ready again at 2:30 with our second reading of the story begins at 3:00. Ice cream and toppings available while it lasts.
One trip through the ice cream line is included in your admission! Regular Admission Rates apply.
